Welcome to Surf Ranch
The only human-made wave on the WSL Championship Tour, the Surf Ranch in Lemoore, California is three hours north of Los Angeles and more than 100 miles from the Pacific Ocean. The wave itself is 3,200 feet long and features spinning tube sections, open canvases for full-rail maneuvers and audacious air sections.
Eleven-time World Champion Kelly Slater surfed the first magical wave here in 2014. Three years later the facility underwent a major renovation and set a new global standard of wave quality and guest experience. Now the Surf Ranch delivers a spectrum of world class waves, certified by the WSL, that significantly elevates the ability level of lifetime surfers and introduces surfing to people who never thought they'd be riding waves.

The Wave [Science]
The Surf Ranch wave technology began in a laboratory test tank developed by Kelly Slater, scientist Adam Fincham and an international team of engineers by using a partially submerged hydrofoil to displace water and create a prototype wave.
After realizing the wave's potential, the team tapped Slater’s unparalleled first-hand knowledge of ocean bathymetry to create a large-scale version with a contoured bottom capable of producing a wave of symmetry and force.
Propelled by a self-moving tram, today's hydrofoil is pushed at a speed of 18 miles per hour down the length of the basin to create a perfect, 3,200-foot-long wave every four minutes.
