Luto no surfe brasileiro pela perda de Jean da Silva

A World Surf League e especialmente a WSL South America, lamentam a perda de mais um grande talento do surfe brasileiro, o joinvillense Jean da Silva, primeiro catarinense a conquistar o título de campeão brasileiro em 2010. O sábado amanheceu com esta triste notícia do falecimento do surfista que surgiu para o mundo com a vitória no tradicional Hang Loose Pro Contest nos tubos da Cacimba do Padre, em Fernando de Noronha, em 2006. Ele também foi campeão catarinense em 2005 e festejou o título sul-americano da WSL South America em 2012, ficando bem perto de se classificar para o CT em alguns anos.
Nesta temporada, Jean da Silva participou de oito etapas do WSL Qualifying Series e ocupava a 137.a posição no ranking. Seu melhor resultado foi o terceiro lugar no QS 1000 da Indonésia na ilha Sumatra e competiu também em provas na Austrália, Japão, Espanha, Portugal e nas duas etapas que fecharam o calendário 2017 da WSL South America no Brasil. Ficou em 17.o lugar no Itacaré Surf Sound Festival da Bahia, em 25.o no Hang Loose São Sebastião Pro na Praia de Maresias e esta competição realizada no início de novembro no litoral norte de São Paulo, acabou sendo a sua última participação no circuito da World Surf League.
Jean da Silva nasceu em 06 de fevereiro de 1985 em Joinville e nos deixou aos 32 anos de idade, na noite desta sexta-feira 24 de novembro de 2017. A família não divulgou a causa da morte. Jean será velado a partir das 14 horas deste sábado na Capela 2 do Cemitério Municipal de Joinville, no bairro Atiradores, e o enterro ocorrerá no domingo, também no Cemitério Municipal, às 10 horas.
