The Billabong Pipe Masters is where destinies unfold. For the four remaining athletes in the World Title race, Hawaii will be the final challenge before a 2017 Champion is crowned. One of the most technical waves on Tour, Pipe is the last test in the season-long gauntlet of pre-dawn warm-ups, conditions that run the gamut, and the highs, lows and intense pressure that come with a Title campaign.

Four athletes in the race

After the carnage of a tough tenth stop in Peniche, Portugal, just four surfers are left in the 2017 Title race: World No. 1 and reigning World Champion, John John Florence; World No. 2 Jordy Smith; World No. 3 Gabriel Medina; and World No. 6 Julian Wilson – any of whom could rise to the occasion at Pipe.
