Wilson is the ASP 6th Ranked surfer in the world and today surfed his opening heat for the 2014 ASP season. Wilson opened with an excellent 8.5 ride and went on to a comfortable win to advance to round three.

Dane Reynolds (USA/Cal/Ventura) is off to a good start at the Hurley Australian Open of Surfing at Manly Beach Sydney Australia. Reynolds advanced through his opening round heat, placing 2nd in the four-man heat behind young South African Slade Prestwich. Reynolds is widely regarded as the most exciting surfer in the world combining progressive moves with power and style was frustrated early in the heat with difficult small waves but eventually linked into a few good waves to advance comfortably with a two wave heat total of 14 out of a possible 20.
