Freddy Patacchia, Jr. won his Round 1 heat over hometown hero Kolohe Andino and Brazilian Jadson Andre during the 2014 Hurley Pro at Trestles.
For Patacchia, the win was particularly meaningful because Andino had narrowly outscored him in Tahiti, sending him to Round 2, where he lost. Known for his way with word, after his heat win at Lowers the Hawaiian said, "Kolohe's a nice kid. But I really, really wanted to beat him, and I wanted to do it in his home town, so I did it!"
