2014 ASP JAPAN TOUR EVENT 5"Minami Boso Junior Pro"will be held today Sep/ 13th (SAT) and tomorrow Sep/ 14th (SUN) at Tsurigasaki Beach (Chitose Point), Ichinomiya-machi, Minami Boso, Chiba.
The conditions at Chitose Point this morning were clean 3 ft. plus with clear summer like weather.
In quality contestable surf on offer this morning, ASP Japan Tour Manager Tosh Omi called the surfers this morning at 6:30 AM at the first call to get in action for the opening rounds.
Today the event is on schedule for the opening rounds of U-20 Junior Men's as well as U16 Cadets respectively. First in action in the morning will be U-20 Junior Men's round of 32, followed by the round of 16. The U-16 Cadets will be on stand by for action with the round of 24, followed by the round of 16, and the quarter finals respectively.

Kazuyuki Ogawa of Namidensetsu forecasts for day 1 is as following;
"Sept, 13th, Saturday the Pressure trough along with the chilly air in the upper skies is expected to slowly move off shore towards the Tokai Seas, However the chilly airs in the upper skies may retain with basically cloudy weather, with some chances of showers especially during the morning and late Afternoon hours. The tropical lows witch transformed from the typhoon few days ago in the eastern seas of Japan with cruise further off shore from Japan but a new low witch was created along the rainy fronts in the southern seas is expected to cruise north-east direction along the off shore of the Sanriku area.
Event venue Chitose Point should enjoy rather decreased north-east to east swell though retain quality conditions. The size is expected to change by the tides, However the chest size conditions is expected throughout the day. The early hours should enjoy northerly winds to create clean fanned surfaces. Later in the day after Noon, the east to south-east winds may create small damages to the surfaces and quality."
As we welcome the autumn season also widely recognized as the typhoon season, the typhoon back swell is hitting the Boso Peninsula and already producing the high quality surf for the high season.
The ASP Japan Junior Tour already finished the 1st event in August at Shida Point in Chiba and this coming event will be the 2nd event for the 2014 season.
The annual WJC will be held in November in Portugal, and the total points from these 2 events will determine the final qualifiers for the WJC along with the 2 top qualifiers from the top ranked 20 years and under surfers in the top QS ranking who belong to the Japan Branch.
The coming event will be the final event to determine the qualifiers for the WJC. As the world standards changes, in 2015 the juniors age will be consisted of 20 years and under and in 2016 it will be 18 years and under. The juniors will be more focused to the younger generation. These statements were announced from the ASP Commissioner Office officially.
Grade 1 event "Minami Boso Junior Pro" will be consisted of the U-16 cadets along with the U-20 Pro Juniors.
The finest junior surfers are ready for action. The finest domestic as well as international surfers make a total of 48 for the men's.
The junior event will be composed by 2 classes of U-20 Junior Men's and Junior Girls.
6 Men's and 2 Women will be invited to the WJC from ASP Japan Tour. Event venue Shida Point boasts its high quality surf to decide the invitees.
