COOLANGATTA, Queensland, Australia (Friday, December 13, 2024) - In 2025, Seven Network will be the official free-to-air broadcaster of the World Surf League (WSL) in Australia for the sixth consecutive season. The announcement follows a new agreement between the two organisations.

The partnership extension will see Australian-based WSL Championship Tour and Challenger Series events broadcast live and free on 7plus Sport, as well as the WSL Finals, which will be contested in Fiji in 2025.

"The WSL is excited to be entering a sixth year of partnership with the Seven Network," said Andrew Stark, WSL APAC President. "Working with the team at Seven gives our athletes and events so many incredible cross-promotional opportunities alongside the biggest sports in the country. We look forward to working closely with Seven into the Australian leg of events in 2025 as well as the WSL Finals in Fiji, and continue to elevate our sport amongst the country's most passionate sporting fans."

Surf fans will be able to enjoy WSL highlight shows on free-to-air television on the Seven Network and simulcast on 7plus Sport.

"Our entire team at Seven is thrilled to continue our valued partnership with the World Surf League in 2025," said Seven Network Commercial Director - Sport, Renee Quirk. "Surfing is one of those truly iconic sports that captures the imagination of all Australians," Quirk said. "Australia has a proud history in the sport, with a host of talented and successful surfers who continue to inspire the next generation. Their achievements, combined with surfing's universal appeal, make it a perfect fit for our diverse audience on Seven and 7plus Sport."

"With the famed sandbank of the Gold Coast, Snapper Rocks returning after a five-year hiatus, Aussies are set to again have a three tour-stop leg that includes the historic Bells Beach event over Easter, and the rugged coast of Margaret River, Western Australia," said Seven Network Head of Digital Sport, Kirsty Bradmore. "Paired with the Challenger Series from Newcastle, there has never been a more exciting time for sport on Seven and 7plus, and we cannot wait to deliver the best surfing in the world live and free to even bigger audiences in 2025".

Seven's promotion of the WSL Championship Tour and the world's best surfers will ramp up in the 2025 season, with Seven's live coverage of the WSL commencing on the 18th of April at the iconic Rip Curl Pro Bells Beach, Stop No. 5 on the 2025 WSL Championship Tour.
