Once the fog cleared, Challenger Series contenders appeared sharp in Ericeira's tricky lineup to continue pushing the level. Only one women's heat remained unsettled and teenager Tya Zebrowksi sent her message that she's having fun and is surfing care-free, toppling former CTers in the process. But, the action didn't settle there with men's top seeds making their debuts alongside early event standouts and proper battles ensued. We're just getting cooking in Portugal with plenty more action on the horizon when competition resumes.
