Day 3 of competition saw the waves begin to swell due to the southwest wind that had been blowing lightly since the day prior. The pitch was between 1m and 1.5m, which was enough for the an action-packed day of surfing. The men's round of 64 started with heat 7. After 12 o'clock, the southwest wind started to blow in earnest, and the waves were noticeable. The success or failure of this wave is determined by how well you can assess the wave and take action. Today's events ranged from heat 7 of the men's round of 64 into the men's round of 32 and ending the day with the completion of the women's round of 16.
