Punta Roca Holds No Favorites, Men's Duels Set Up Stacked Quarterfinals I The Catch Up Day 2

The world's best lived up to that tagline with impeccable performances on the high-performance canvas of Punta Roca delivering throughout the day. Elimination Round action witnessed history from Bryan Perez earning El Salvador its first-ever CT heat win. But, the Round of 16 turned competition up a notch with dominant displays from John John Florence, overtaking Perez, an aerial clinic put on Yago Dora, and a monstro showcase from Gabriel Medina. Dramatics ensued along with more heavy upsets following Griffin Colapinto's interference leading to Joao Chianca's dream return to the CT into the Quarterfinals. Plus, Crosby Colapinto and Matthew McGillvray helped put a cap on a phenomenal day with 16+ heat totals. There's plenty of meat left on the bone in El Salvador and the race to the Final 5 couldn't be more intense.
