Men's Final 5 Race Intensifies, Hefty Blows To Upper Echelon - Corona Cero Post Show Day 2

One of the best days for progression and innovative surfing of the 2024 season went down with Quarterfinal spots on the line and Final 5 implications at the forefront of competition. A historic moment for Central America kicked off the day for Bryan Perez overtaking World No. 5, becoming the first El Salvadorian to win a CT heat, before World No. 1 John John Florence halted that history in the Round of 16 with more excellence. Gabriel Medina, Yago Dora, and Joao Chianca made a ruckus with excellent numbers thrown as Dora pushed the aerial envelope. Now, the Quarterfinals are set with rookie sensation Crosby Colapinto adding his name to the excellent tally alongside Matthew McGillvray and leading a surge of event threats into the Quarterfinals.
