本日より『御前崎プロ2023』がここ静岡県御前崎市メインポイントにてスタート。 2年目の真夏の祭典!国際大会を制するの誰なのか⁈注目です! 本日はQS1000男子のRound 1がスタート。本日は男子ラウンド2まで熱い試合が繰り広げられた。 風はやや強いオンショア、波のサイズは1m〜2m前後のダラッとしたフェイス張りづらい波の中、選手達は技を入れるセクションを見つけ出し、素晴らしい演技を見せてくれた。
御前崎プロ2023初日の注目はやはりオリンピック出場経験を持ちチャレンジャーシリーズを転戦中の大原洋人選手。見た目以上に海に入ってみると波のサイズがあり、ヒート中もたくさんセットが来てサイズある波を掴み、際どい縦へのアプローチに加え、大木型の大きなスプレーを出し、5.00ptと7.25ptでトータル12.25で見事第1位通過。インタビューで大原は、『2本目に乗った7.25ptのライディングは最後こけてしまったけれども高得点が出てだけに少し勿体無いことをしてしまったなと思いましたが、バックアップを上げることに専念できたと思います。先週のインドと、この後にあるニアス戦はスキップするので、ここでしっかり勝って1000ptをゲットし来年のCSに繋げたいと思っています。』と語った。明日以降の彼のライディングにも注目です。
本日のハイエストライドは松永大輝の7.50ptで会場を沸かせた。
明日8月25日(金)は、男子QS1000ラウンド32、女子QS1000ラウンド16までを予定! ファーストコールは、AM8時です。
