To celebrate International Women's Day at the MEO Pro Portugal presented by Rip Curl, all WSL Championship Tour surfers will compete wearing jerseys with the name of the trailblazing female athlete that inspires them most.
At WSL, equality is at the core of everything we do, and celebrating women is threaded into the foundation of our sport. This year for the first time ever, women and men are competing on the exact same Championship Tour schedule - an equal number of events, the same venues, and equal prize money, which WSL instituted in 2019. It was a defining moment for not just the tour but the entire sport, and a statement about the value of the women and girls who surf within it. We remain forever committed to growing the future of women's sports and WSL is proud to celebrate the women who inspire us today and always.
