At 13 most kids are asking for permission to go hangout with their friends down the street. John John Florence was paddling out to compete against the world's best surfers at the world's most dangerous wave - which happened to be "just down the street." The symbolic showing would become a prescient appearance for John John, now a 2-time World Champ, 3-Time time Triple Crown Winner and highly decorated tour surfer…but 15 years after this appearance, he's still looking for his first Pipe Masters title.
