Gabriel Medina's first Championship Tour victory came in France in 2011. Later in the season he won the Rip Curl Search in San Francisco. It was his first year on Tour and he was ostensibly off to the races after that.
Since then Medina has evolved into the most successful Brasilian surfer to ever grace the CT. To date he's amassed two World Titles and 13 CT victories. Italo De Souza and Adriano de Souza each have a title to their credit as well, but Medina's been the man to beat up until now.
Barreling into the 2020 season ranked Number Two in the world, he has designs on adding a third Title to his resume, as well as potentially winning the first Olympic gold medal for surfing.
But let's not get ahead of ourselves, the 2020 Championship Tour hasn't even begun yet. The Corona Open Gold Coast kicks off on March 26, until then, feast on this 20-minute highlight reel featuring Medina's greatest hits.
