The 134th International Olympic Committee (IOC) Session today approved a proposal from the Paris 2024 organizers to include Surfing on the sports program for the Olympics Games in 2024.
"We are thrilled about the provisional inclusion of surfing in the Paris 2024 Olympics," said WSL CEO Sophie Goldschmidt. "It's an incredible platform to further grow the sport and there is already real momentum building as we prepare for surfings Olympic debut in 2020. Particularly for our athletes, who are the best surfers in the world, taking part in an Olympic Games is a real opportunity to grow their profiles. The WSL looks forward to continuing to work closely with the ISA, IOC, Paris 2024, and all the stakeholders involved to put surfing in its best light so when the world is watching."
