El "Niño Maravilla" del surf chileno termina quinto en el Héroes de Mayo Iquique Pro

Pudo haber sido un mejor día, pero los imprevistos afectaron el paso a la semifinal del Héroes de Mayo Pro 2019 en la categoría Pro junior a Noel De La Torre. El oriundo de Maitencillo, considerado como un verdadero astro del surf en el ambiente nacional, rompió su tabla en medio de los 20 minutos de competencia del heat que daba el paso a las semifinales del torneo. Fatal suerte, porque los expertos auguraban al menos una final para el "Niño Maravilla" del surf chileno.
Aún más cuando en la primera ola que corrió el rider nacional cuando competía contra la armada brasileña de Leo Casal, Daniel Templar (Estos dos clasificaron a la semi) y Daniel Adisaka, obtuvo un 7,17 (De 10,00 puntos), lo que auguraba un mejor destino en el heat. Pero en el siguiente abordaje a una ola quebró su tabla, tuvo que nadar a la orilla para poder cambiarla. Esa pérdida de tiempo le hizo no tener tanto margen para recuperar terreno frente a sus competidores que tuvieron una excelente exhibición también en la misma manga. Mala suerte.
"Estuvo muy difícil la manga, me tocó contra tres brasileños las dos veces que salí a surfear hoy, lo que lo hace muy complicado. Las dos veces me trataban de marcar en el mar y las olas estaban súper lentas. De todas formas, estoy conforme con la actuación", dijo tras la competencia el joven surfista de la Quinta Región, quien no se vino abajo con lo que se consideró una temprana eliminación en vista de sus condiciones.
"Quiero seguir dándolo todo para ganar y cumplir mi sueño de campeón mundial. Ahora me voy a Brasil a entrenar tanto la parte física como técnica y seguir surfeando porque estoy muy motivado con mi carrera. Estuve en California en campeonato donde terminé tercero y ganando en otro", remató De La Torre.
En tanto, se conocieron también a los finalistas de la categoría Pro Junior, que verá a Lucas Vicente y Leo Casal, ambos brasileños enfrentándose en la final del domingo, tal como la peruana Daniela Rosas contra la hawaiana Gabriela Bryan. Esta última, favorita en la competencia dijo tras su paso a la gran final que "disputé muchas series estos últimos días y siento que surfee bien en todas entonces ahora que llegué a la final voy a dar el máximo porque quiero ganar el torneo".
La acción continúa mañana a partir de las 8.00 horas con el regreso de la competencia adulta masculina y femenina. En hombres, se deben disputar la Ronda de 32, Octavos de Final y Cuartos de Final; mientras que, en las mujeres, mañana se disputan los Octavos y Cuartos de Final. Cinco chilenos buscarán llegar al último día de competencia. En hombres, Guillermo Satt, Manuel Selman, Danilo Cerda y Camilo Hernández; mientras que en damas, Jessica Anderson hará lo suyo en una dura manga ante la japonesa Emily Nishimoto, la brasileña Tainá Hincke y la argentina Lucia Indurain.
