Perna sul-americana da WSL South America terá sete eventos em cinco semanas

A WSL South America inicia neste fim de semana uma série de sete etapas até o dia 4 de novembro em três países da América do Sul. Serão cinco semanas de eventos decisivos na disputa dos títulos sul-americanos da temporada e por pontos no ranking mundial nesta reta final do WSL Qualifying Series. A "perna sul-americana" já começa em dose dupla neste fim de semana. O Neutrox Weekend promove no Rio de Janeiro seu segundo QS 1000 feminino do ano e no Peru será conhecido o primeiro campeão sul-americano de 2018 no O´Neill Pro Junior apresentado pela Petroperu e Imaco em Lobitos. As meninas também competem no Peru, mas terão outra etapa no Brasil na semana seguinte.
O São Chico ECO Festival na Prainha de São Francisco do Sul, será outro evento só para mulheres, o primeiro organizado pela embaixadora do surfe feminino na WSL South America, Marina Werneck. A estreia será com uma etapa do QS 1500 valendo pontos para os rankings mundial e sul-americano, combinada com uma do Pro Junior. Em Santa Catarina será definida a campeã de 2018 da categoria para surfistas com até 18 anos de idade e as duas primeiras no ranking das duas etapas, vão representar a América do Sul no Mundial Pro Junior da World Surf League, na primeira semana de dezembro na Ilha Taiwan.
Depois do São Chico ECO Festival no primeiro fim de semana de outubro, a "perna sul-americana" prossegue com mais quatro etapas do WSL Qualifying Series valendo pontos também para o ranking regional da WSL South America. Serão dois seguidos para homens e mulheres competirem nas mesmas ondas, começando pelo Reef Pro Qualifying Series Peñascal San Bartolo no Peru de 11 a 14 de outubro com um QS 1500 masculino e um QS 1000 feminino. O outro é no Brasil, o Itacaré Surf Music nos dias 18 a 21 de outubro na Bahia, com uma prova do QS 1000 para as duas categorias na Praia da Tiririca.
A "perna sul-americana" de fim de ano da WSL South America começa em dose dupla e também vai terminar com dois eventos acontecendo no mesmo fim de semana em dois países diferentes. Primeiro foi no Brasil e Peru, agora no Brasil e Chile, ambos sendo encerrados no primeiro domingo de novembro. Da Bahia, os homens seguem para São Paulo, para disputar o QS 3000 Red Nose São Sebastião Pro, que começa no dia 31 de outubro na Praia de Maresias e define o campeão sul-americano de 2018. Já a última etapa das meninas será no Chile, com o QS 1500 Maui and Sons Pichilemu Pro também terminando no dia 4 de novembro.
