Frederico Morais Jumps to No. 13 on QS with Semifinal Finish
WSL
Portugal's Frederico Morais thrilled his home country crowd all week with his solid surfing, but his big run came to an end in the Semifinals, when he came up against eventual winner Ezekiel Lau. Still, it was a successful week for Morais, who moved 23 spots up the Qualifying Series rankings, to No. 13. Considering that he finished in the No. 3 spot during the 2016 Vans Triple Crown, he seems to be in a great spot to ensure requalification through the Qualifying Series, should he need it. But Frederico is doing just fine on the Championship Tour at the moment, vying hard for the Rookie of the Year award.
