Post Show Report: A Pair of Stunning Upsets Dominate the Day

On Day 2 of the Vans US Open of Surfing, Strider Wasilewski dropped by the post show set, joining Rosy Hodge and Joe Turpel, to recap all the happenings of the day. The biggest storyline on the women's side was the stunning upset of 6x World Champion Stephanie Gilmore to wildcard Maud Le Car. Later in the round, another top seed, world No. 7 and former US Open Champ Lakey Peterson, was eliminated by No. 17 Pauline Ado. Over at the men's QS10,000 event, the Championship Tour surfers (there are 22 in the draw) continued to dominate, led by recent J-Bay winner Filipe Toledo and world No. 10 rookie Connor O'Leary.
