Evan Geiselman's a surfer whose pro career trajectory has lived on the cusp of Championship Tour qualification for the past few seasons. The young American has the entire package -- speed, flair, technique, edge -- but he's been unable to string together a series of solid results at the back end of his Qualifying Series campaigns. Geiselman revealed a slice of his eclectic bag of tricks in his Round of 96 heat at the Vans US Open of Surfing - Men's QS, sinking his teeth into a tail-high frontside air to go from second place to first with one big move as the clock ticked to zero. His win proved once again that Huntington Beach is one of the few stops on tour where a single explosive move during a match's dying moments can turn an entire heat.
