It's safe to say North Point needed a few hours to settle in and sort itself out on Day 1 at the Drug Aware Margaret River Pro. Signs of brilliance sparkeled just before the first few heats of the day hit the water, but sub-optimum swell direction forced competitiors to scrape and claw there way through the first four heats of the morning. Heat 2 was no different. In a low scoring affair, Kolohe Andino used tactics and wits to lock up the best wave of the heat. The young man with the NASCAR beard, pulled straight into a deep drainer that stood up vertically on tackoff, then ran for 30 yards across the reef before he doggie-doored the exit just prior to getting clipped.
