Following his Round Four heat, 11-time World Champ Kelly Slater told WSL's Peter Mel he'd be visiting with the judging panel regarding what Slater considered a "questionable priority call" related to positioning on the peak. What cannot be called into question, however, is Slater's uncanny knack for nearly always being in the right place at the right time, even in tricky conditions at Sunset Beach. His deeply faded, bowly barrel in Quarterfinal Three helped him advance into the Semifinals.
