Despite being ranked a low No. 44 on the Qualifying Series, Frederico Morais was a key player in an upset-filled finals day at the Hawaiian Pro. With each heat win, the Portuguese dark horse made stealthy moves up the QS leaderboard. He refused to falter during his wave-starved Semifinal battle with Championship Tour veteran Jadson Andre. His tactical tenacity earned him a well-deserved spot in the Final, where he finished in second place behind John John Florence. For the effort Morais jumped to No. 10 on the Qualifying Series.
