A series of massive upsets sent many top seeds packing in Round Three. In the most critical heat of the day, Gabriel Medina clearly felt the pressure against an on-fire Jeremy Flores. The World No. 2 went into his heat against the Frenchmen knowing the World No. 1 was safely into Round Four. Medina couldn't match Flores' newfound form. Nonetheless, John John's win over wildcard Frederico Morais could be his most critical victory this season.

Now, the ball is in John's court. If the Jeep leader can make the Final at the MEO Rip Curl Pro, the Title is his.
