After ending Matt Wilkinson's world title run on Thursday, Jeremy Flores did it again, defeating World No. 2 Gabriel Medina Friday, and putting a huge dent in the Brazilian's world title campaign. Medina's failure to advance was especially costly given World No. 1 John John Florence advanced one heat earlier.
As for Flores, the back-to-back upsets are boosting his confidence. "I feel like I've been in rhythm this whole event." he said. Indeed, he got his upset over Medina started with this solid 8.00 score at the beginning of the heat.
