Nearly 200 professional surfers from all over the world will partake in the Telstra Stores Tweed Coast Pro when the elite World Surf League (WSL) Qualifying Series (QS) 1000 event lands in Cabarita.
The elite four-day competition - which will form the second of four stops on the recently announced NSW Pro Surf Series - will take place from 1 - 4 February, 2016.
To cater for the increased demand for a high caliber competition in the area, the event has been extended by another day with the men running a round of 144 and the women running a round of 48.
In addition to the enlarged draw and longer event window, Telstra Tweed Stores have come onboard as naming rights sponsor.
Telstra Tweed Marketing Manager Scott Fletcher, sees the partnership as the perfect opportunity to give back to the local surfing community.

Lost Surfboards wildcard: Asher whales
Cabarita Boardriders wildcards: Chris "Chippa" Wilson, Damien Norman and Sophia Fulton.
WSL wildcards: Nathan Hedge, Kai Hing and Brent Savage.
