While Adriano de Souza (BRA) and Carissa Moore (HAW) were busy clinching their championships on the 2015 Samsung Galaxy WSL Championship Tour (CT) there was another huge battle being waged for precious 2016 CT seeds. As usual, the race for these slots came down to the wire.

2016 men's CT is comprised of 34 surfers: the top 22-ranked surfers from the 2015 CT season, the top 10-ranked surfers on the 2015 Qualifying Series (QS) and two WSL wildcards. The women's tour is decided by the top 10-ranked women on the CT, the top six-ranked surfers from the women's QS, and one wildcard.
