After earning a 9.10 in his Round 1 heat at the Quiksilver Pro France, Alejo Muniz (BRA) got caught in a closeout barrel and returned to the beach with an injured knee. After an initial assessment on site, he was transported to a local hospital for a scan and official diagnosis. He withdrew from the event the following day.
