Unruly Conditions Force Lay Day in Lacanau

The Airwalk Lacanau Pro Junior is off for the first day of the event waiting period. With blown-out, 6-to-8-foot surf cleaning out the Lacanau beaches, organizers will await more auspicious surf to kick things off.
"We had hopes that the wind and swell would decrease substantially throughout the day but it hasn't happened and conditions are clearly maxing out," Rob Gunning, WSL Europe tour manager said. "We've set an early 7:30 a.m. call [for Saturday local time] and hope to start the competition in better conditions."
