Ranked No. 4 and No. 8 on the Jeep Leaderboard, Lakey Peterson (USA) and Stephanie Gilmore (AUS) are among the best surfers in the world. But in recent interviews, they reveal that there's more to maintaining mind, body -- and yes, makeup too -- on the Championship Tour than flawless waves every day.

In a recent interview with the New York Times Styles section, Stephanie talked about her beauty regime on and off the road. The six-time World Champion revealed her favorites for skin care, fragrance, makeup and more -- a rundown that underscores an ocean-centric, low-maintenance lifestyle.
"I wake up and head straight to the surf," she said. So how does a pro surfer choose her makeup? "I'm always trying for that dewy bronzed beach babe look," said Gilmore. "It was all about Elle Macpherson when I was growing up, and now I'm obsessed with [American model] Gigi Hadid."
Similarly, Peterson sat down with Self Magazine to discuss staying fit and mentally sharp while on Tour.

Highlighting her love for kettle bell training (but hatred for leg day), as well as the psychological clarity she finds within surfing itself, Lakey explained how she prepares for a life of competition.
Of her workouts, she said: "Surfing is really explosive, so you want to be strong. Kettlebells make you powerful and explosive, but keep you lean."
Catch both Peterson and Gilmore at the upcoming Vans US Open of Surfing where they will compete against the rest of the Women's Samsung Galaxy Championship Tour starting June 27. Catch all the action LIVE here or on the WSL app.
