World Surf League is excited to confirm the Teguise 2015 Franito Pro Junior as the final stop of the men and women's European Junior Qualifying Series to be held at the iconic lefthand pointbreak of San Juan from September 16 - 20, 2015.
The inaugural edition in 2014 brought together the best regional under-20 talents and witnessed the crowning of Luke Dillon (GBR) and Tessa Thyssen (GLP) as event champions. Ideally placed in September when the first groundswells of Autumn start hitting the island, pumping conditions also decided last year's European Junior Champions Vasco Ribeiro (PRT) and Thyssen.

The City council of Teguise decided to bet on surfing again this year to promote its wave-rich area and beautiful volcanic landscapes. This Lanzarote municipality has one of the largest and best surfing playgrounds in Europe. Aside from the main site of San Juan, surfers and visitors will be able to explore other beautiful locations and waves along the coast.
"The Franito Surf School, with its 15 years of experience promoting surf culture and teaching locals how to surf, is committed to host the Junior Qualifying Series on Lanzarote," Franito Saenz, event organizer stated.
"Local surfers are grateful for the opportunity to watch some of the best surfers in Europe perform on their homebreak," Saenz continued. "The wave here is truly unique, and we want to invite everyone to come discover and enjoy the many secrets of Lanzarote."
After the incredible performances including the Junior World Title for Ribeiro in Portugal last year and a runner-up finish for Thyssen in the same event, the Teguise 2015 Franito Pro Junior will play the vital role of selecting the next generation of surfers who will represent their continent in the international final.
"This final event in Teguise promises to be even better than last year's edition," Rob Gunning, WSL European Tour Manager said. "WSL and event organizers are working on making the Teguise 2015 Franito Pro Junior a very special final stop on our 2015 Junior Series. La playa de San Juan is a great performance wave and one that will highlight the talents of our best juniors."
