Official teaser for the upcoming QS3000 Martinique Surf Pro to be held at Basse-Pointe, Martinique from April 21 - 26, 2015.
Qualifying series campaigners from all-over the world will soon flock to the idyllic shores of Martinique for the inaugural Martinique Surf Pro, a men's QS3000 event unfolding from April 21 - 26, 2015. Pressure starts building as the Caribbean competition will launch the European QS season, offering valuable points and prize-money early in the year.
"The organization team of the Martinique Surf Pro have put in a tremendous amount of hard work to make this event a reality for the island," Rob Gunning, WSL European Tour Manager stated. "The WSL is excited about this new event and would like to thank all the surfers for supporting this inaugural edition."
Originally designed to host a 96-man format, WSL officials have extended it to 112 slots and opened a waiting list for athletes wishing to attend the Martinique Surf Pro. The tropical island setup and reputation of the Martinique breaks have already made this event extremely popular among surfers.
An A-list of competitors, from regional junior up-and-comers to the well-traveled QS point hunters will provide an exciting week of high-performance surfing to the local community and will be broadcast LIVE on television via a dedicated channel 'Surf+', airing during the event's waiting period across the overseas territories of France.
This event will also be the last chance to fine-tune their preparation for athletes entering the QS10000 Oakley Lowers Pro the following week in California.
And if the red-hot action isn't enough, organizers will treat surfers and public with numerous entertainment options, including concerts and exhibitions during the week.
"Apart from the surfing action many other side activities and music have been organized during the six-day waiting period which will help highlight the wonders of the island of Martinique." Gunning added.
