The World Surf League (WSL) is dedicated to celebrating the world's best surfing on the world's best waves through a variety of best-in-class audience platforms. The WSL is a truly global sports and media company with regional offices in Australia, Asia, Africa, North America, South America, and Europe.
In 2016, Kelly Slater Wave Company (KSWC), joined the WSL as an innovative wave technology company. KSWC is the first to develop a formula that combines cutting-edge science, engineering, and design to create the longest, open-barrel, high-performance wave in existence.
In 2018, WSL announced the creation of WSL Studios, focused on being the home of live competitive surf content and the premier place to create short-form, TV series, documentaries and feature films oriented around surfing, surf-lifestyle and ocean conservancy.

As the Art Director, you will lead the World Surf League’s efforts in creating groundbreaking creative design concepts and directions to push the boundaries of creativity, innovation, impact and engagement in surf. Your work will involve driving a collaborators’ visions while aligning with brand objectives. Your experience in brand design coupled with an appetite for creativity will be the driving force to create impactful work across a range of mediums within a fast-paced, dynamic and live sport environment.
This is a full-time position, within a hybrid team based in El Segundo, reporting to the SVP, Marketing and Talent.

PartnershipsAssociate Manager, PartnershipsEl Segundo, California (HQ)
The Associate Manager of the Partnerships team is a crucial role within the organization. This person will be on the front lines of managing partner relationships, while also working with the various internal teams to deliver against each and every Global and North America partner agreement. This person will also be responsible for maintaining and updating all internal team documentation - ensuring all internal stakeholders are aligned against deliverables, deadlines, etc.
This role reports directly into the VP, Partnership Marketing. Based on business and team priorities, the successful candidate should be based in Los Angeles, California, in a hybrid working environment. This role will include three days in-office (El Segundo).
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Account Management
Support AM team through management of all internal documentation, ensuring the relevant information is shared cross functionally and that each dept is 100% aligned with team deliverables across all WSL touch points. Management of team calendar and weekly touch points with each dept. Actively manage accounts
- Establish strong and collaborative relationships with assigned clients, building a comprehensive understanding of each client’s business and their goals.
- Ensure execution and delivery of all contracted deliverables, coordinating with relevant internal departments/stakeholders, including Broadcast, Social Media, Events & Activations, Media and Tours & Competition
- Apply consultative selling skills to identify strategic opportunities for expansion of existing partnerships.
- Drive value for clients by leveraging knowledge base, existing WSL assets and IP, and new potential opportunities.
- Manage client facing and internal trackers, ensuring transparency and organization across all stakeholders
- Project management for larger NA events (ex. US Open), liaising between Account Management team and our third party vendor to align on all activation details
Research Process
- Work with Senior Manager to manage the relationship with third party reporting vendors including Nielsen & Hookit reporting.
- Ensure partnership logos and information across Nielsen and Hookit systems is updated and accurate on a weekly basis.
- Manage reporting process and data with internal WSL teams including: Marketing, Social, Broadcast and Analytics.
- Gather and send Nielsen audience information in a timely manner post events.
- Compile custom broadcast integrations from ClipPro following an event + photos for key partners.
- Build out and manage post event reporting templates across the Championship Tour Season.
- Manage internal delivery timelines with internal teams and third party vendors.
- Conduct monthly meetings with internal teams to review post event reporting metrics for each event.
Sales Support
- Collaborate with team lead and internal constituents (marketing, studios, analytics, broadcast, creative services, legal)

- Build a library of assets to be shared globally
Qualifications
- 1-2+ years of activation agency or live sports experience

- Experience with Google Suite (or comparable across Powerpoint, Excel, mid-level skills).
- Surf brand experience a plus

Surf RanchCookWaveCo. Lemoore
Works under the supervision of the Surf Ranch Sous Chef and Kitchen Supervisor. The cook is responsible for assisting the culinary team on the execution and preparation of menu items, receiving and processing deliveries, cleaning, and supporting the culinary department as requested by Chefs, Hospitality management, and people leaders. The position is responsible for ensuring quality meals and service for Surf Ranch guests during their stay. The Cook should familiarize themselves with the guests that are coming to visit Surf Ranch and be knowledgeable of any dietary or allergy restrictions.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Maintain a high level of cleanliness in the kitchen facilities meeting company standards and health code regulations
- Prepare food/maintain facility in accordance with company and health code regulations
- Execute recipes and menus accurately and in timely manner
- Ensure quality meals and professionally interact with guests on a regular basis
- Menu and recipe knowledge including allergens and prep methods
- Stay up to date on company email correspondence regarding guest days and menu planning
- Assist with dishes and cleaning kitchen

The Hospitality Server ensures that guests are comfortable and provide food and beverage service. To ensure the ranch house service is at a quality at all times while preserving a level of guest privacy. To complete all cleaning and preparation to ensure a smooth service at all times.
Responsibilities include (but not limited to):
- To prepare and carry out food and beverage service to guests in a courteous and efficient manner. This includes offering service to guests, regularly checking the floor, this includes all ranch house, decks and surrounding areas.
- To keep back of house and ranch house areas tidy at all times and to regularly clean all associated equipment.
- Mix ingredients to prepare cocktails and other drinks for guest and wash utensils after each use.
- Pour all drinks to the recommended legal standard (correct measure) in the appropriate glassware.
- Clean up after food service including with appropriate chemicals.
- To notify the Director of Guest Services if you observe a particular item of stock is running low.
- To attend training sessions and courses and to assist with the ‘on-the-job’ training of new staff, as required.
- To handle minor complaints in a professional and courteous manner and to provide appropriate solutions. To immediately inform the Director of Guest Services of all cases.

Surf RanchSite Safety OfficerWaveCo. Lemoore
The overall safety and security of Surf Ranch is critical to the site, staff, and guests visiting Surf Ranch and the Site Safety Officer (SSO) will be responsible for this undertaking. Under the direct supervision of the Surf Ranch Health, Safety, Security & Environment (HSSE) Manager, the Site Safety Officer at Surf Ranch will work to keep Surf Ranch safe and secure at all times. This position will be responsible for all vehicles and patrons that arrive and depart Surf Ranch daily. The security of Surf Ranch is critical and can directly affect the overall guest experience. The Surf Ranch Site Safety Officer must have a thorough understanding of the Surf Ranch property lines and all entrances and exits on site. The Site Safety Officer must understand areas of the property that are less secure than others and to monitor those areas accordingly.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
- Interface with guests and employees as they enter Surf Ranch through the service and main entrances.
- Identify guests as they arrive and ensure that they have an invitation to be onsite.
- Patrol Surf Ranch on a consistent basis.
- Monitor the perimeter fence throughout the day and night.
- Intervene and resolve security threats or issues as they arise.
- Guard position will most likely be the first visual touchpoint upon guest arrival so friendliness, and good attitude are important per Surf Ranch ‘guest service trail’.
- Assist with overnight accommodation check in and out processes.
- Understand the Surf Ranch property lines, easements etc.
- Understand the Surf Ranch security/ emergency evacuation plan.
- Knowledge and understanding of facility locations.
