About Laura Enever
If you’ve been keeping up with the 2021 Championship Tour, you’ll know and recognize the smooth flow and delivery of Laura Enever. She’s the fiery, tow-headed woman on the back of the ski, conducting in-water interviews and offering up hot takes on the competition. And if you’re wondering how she knows so much about the surfers and the sport itself, it’s because she spent the better part of a decade finishing in the top 10 of the women’s Championship Tour.
Born and bred on Sydney, Australia’s northern beaches, Laura Enever was destined to become a huge name within the sport, and it didn’t take long. The young phenom blasted onto the world stage by becoming the 2008 ISA Junior World Champion as well as being named the Triple Crown Rookie of the Year the same year. Ultimately, it was the following year when she was crowned the 2009 ASP Women’s World Junior Champion that got people talking about the small blonde with nerves of steel and a rail game to boot.
She quickly qualified through the WQS and immediately began bagging respectable results among the world’s best female surfers. One of those results was a 4th place finish at the first-ever Pe’ahi Women’s Challenge in 2016. Again, Laura showed her bravery and proved her skill in the massive surf, sparking a newfound passion.
In 2020, Laura debuted in her film “Undone,” garnering glowing reviews throughout the surf community. The movie tracks her journey through the male-dominated big wave surfing world, and above all, shows that she’s got enough skill and courage to tangle with some of the biggest, baddest waves on the planet.
